  • Respect-O-Meter: Respected Neighbor

I am new to the neighborhood. The HOA really needs to convert the .pdf files, especially regarding the "covenants", into searchable files. Just scanning and posting makes it very difficult to search for a particular rule.

I am curious about parking in front of my property. It seems that people openly park on the road in front of my property. If this is permissable, then I can just pick any home and park in front of their front yard?

For those who care, a new guy's perception is that this neighborhood looks nice from the street. The truth seems to be, although there are a lot of decent folks, there are many aggressive, semi-employed, generally "scrubby" people. I'm not a snob or anything, but it's very similar to a trailer park. I'm sure if I confronted the "parkers" I would get chest puffing or just general confusion as to why I would ask why someone is parking in front of my yard. Maybe that's how you survive here is show of force? That's really not how I want to live though.

I will try to get involved, but travel alot with my job. I thought the taxes here were very high compared to where I came from, but I'm starting to think higher taxes may help clean up the neighborhood a little.

It's not all bad, but I'm very frustrated.

Wow we must have the same neighbors!! Aggressive! Semi employed and park their cars everywhere! isnt it great.  I love my house and this neighborhood. I travel with work and have three small kids, and i can say honestly that some of my neighbors are some of the biggest assholes on the face of this earth.  I really enjoy living here but its certainly not the friendlist group living around me right now, its ok if i stay here for much longer we may be the only people left there are empty houses everywhere

I just moved here in July of 2008.  I know what you mean.  I too was shocked that some people have so many cars, they can't find room for them, so they park in front of other people's homes and block mailboxes.
