Invasive Plants - Wild Mustard

Black Mustard is a non native invasive species.  In order to help control these species, when you see them in bloom, break off the flower heads.   These plants growing up to 6 or 8 feet high.  Along a trail they block the beautiful views we enjoy from trails in Coyote-Bear.  As people go down a the trail they make it hard to see other trail users or cattle, making collisions very possible.  They are annuals that spread by seed.  In the summer when they dry out they become a fire hazard.  If you see some really tall mustard, odds are good it's Black Mustard.  There are other Mustard species that are native and aren't invasive.
