Summer Meadows Homeowners,
I apologize that this flier is coming later than I had originally planned. The process of contacting as many homeowners as possible has taken longer than I had anticipated. So far there are 40 homeowners that have committed to the HOA. There are 5more homeowners that are not able to commit at this time but have expressed a desire to join in January. 18 homeowners have unlisted phone numbers and could not be contacted, 15 homeowners have said no and 9 homeowners have not responded yet.
Our next step is to elect officers. Optimally we would like a president and treasurer, however; we need a president at minimum in order to proceed. The president will preside over meetings, represent the members of the HOA to the town, local companies/corporations and other citizens, keep an attendance list of each meeting, document minutes for each meeting, approve expenditures, be responsible for the creation and appointments to additional positions in support of the HOA and any other duties that may be identified as relevant in support of the HOA’s goals. The president will also be ultimately responsible for ensuring that the HOA stays true to its intended purpose. The treasurer will be responsible for accepting and depositing monies from homeowners, and writing checks from the Association’s account to pay for approved expenditures and activities for the neighborhood. A running ledger of the Association’s fiscal income and expenditures must also be maintained by the treasurer.
If you feel that you or your spouse would like to volunteer for either of these positions please call Tim Brown at 867-4916 or email the nomination to tim4302@earthlink.net. If we have more than one person volunteering for a position we will have a vote to determine the winner. If we can’t find at least one volunteer for the position of president then we will be forced to abandon the idea of a Home Owners Association. I am moving in March of 2005 so I will not be able to volunteer for the position.
I believe that we are at the threshold of creating an atmosphere of unity within our community. As we unite for the good of our neighborhood, I believe our actions will become contagious and our numbers will grow. I thank all of you in advance for your commitment to our neighborhood.
Call or email those nominations!!
Thank You,
Tim Brown
