Fulton Neighborhood Association

FNA Mission Statement


The Fulton Neighborhood Association (FNA) is a volunteer organization dedicated to the following:

- encouraging and supporting community involvement in the Fulton neighborhood;
- improving the residential, educational, and economic status of the community;
- functioning as a non-partisan, non-sectarian community action group keeping residents informed of proposals that affect the neighborhood;
- coordinating snd publicizing activities in the community;
- facilitating needed programs and projects in the interest of neighborhood betterment; and
- representing the Fulton neighborhood before city boards, commissions, and other governmental entities as needed.

All neighborhood residents, businesses, and institutions are invited to participate in the activities of the association. Regular meetings of the board of directors of the Fulton Neighborhood Association sre scheduled for 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at Pershing Park, Chowen Avenue at West 48th Street. FNA Committees


There are many organizations operating in Fulton. The list below is an overview of those groups. To receive information about most of these groups. call the Fulton Neighborhood Line at 922-3106. Contact names and phone numbers are listed with groups that you cannot reach through the Neighborhood Line.

- The Fulton NRP Implementation Committee, chaired by Kim Keilholtz, is responsible for carrying out the $1.3 million Neighborhood Action Plan. Also serving on the committee are Dave Delvoye, John Finlayson, Linda Kerker, Bob Scott, and Neighborhood Coordinator Michelle Mensing. The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Pershing Park. About forty NRP projects are managed by the following volunteer leaders: Kathleen Godfrey (housing and city services), Terry Kita (parks), Doug Mensing (environment), Denise Engen (school facilities), and Michelle Mougin (information).

- The Zoning Committee meets if necessary on the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. at Pershing Park. Contact Tom Steele at 922-6275 if you have any questions about zoning in Fulton.

- The Safety Committee publishes a free monthly newsletter, sponsors projects, and meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4801 France Avenue South.

- The Newsletter Committee publishes Fulton Neighborhood News on a bimonthly schedule.

- The Reforestation Committee oversees the planting and care of boulevard trees in conjunction with the Park Board. Contact Roger Hawke at 926-6036.

- The Clean Sweep Committee organizes a special trash pickup every summer.

- The Environment Committee organizes projects to protect and improve our local environment.

- The 50th and France Task Force consists of representatives of FNA and of the 50th and France Business Association and is working to implement the commercial district master plan. Contact Barbara Harman at 920-3106.

The following organizations are active in the neighborhood but are not formally affiliated with FNA:

- The Fulton Garden Club meets on the third Monday of every month. Contact Lyn King at 922-5536.

- The Southwest Area Roundtable discussion group meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at Pershing Park. Contact the group at 928-1633.

- The 50th and France Business and Professional Association meets on the first Wednesday of each month. Contact Karen Knudsen at 922-1524.
