The garbage gets picked up curbside on Wednesday and Saturday of every week.  Recycling is also picked up on Wednesdays when placed curbside.  Recycling is a FREE service to Hillsborough residents and is an easy way to make a large impact. In order to get the recycling bins (blue and green bins) just call the Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management Department at 813-272-5680. They will deliver the bins to your doorstep.

They do NOT pick up curbside if a holiday falls on either a Wednesday or a Saturday.  The community provides a dumpster for those who need to remove their garbage more often. 

Please only place your garbage outside the MORNING of either a Wednesday or Saturday. If garbage is left out overnight and in some cases days, animals such as cats and turkey vultures come and litter your garbage throughout.  If you have excess bags throughout the week please place them inside the DUMPSTER not just inside the structure surrounding the dumpster. 

Good info!  An alternative for those of us who need or prefer to put the trash out the night before, simply use a trash can with a lid that can be secured.  This way the animals won't have a way to get into your trash.
