GARDEN ACRES MONTHLY MEETING OCTOBER 16TH

Hello everyone,

I would like to thank those of you attended our meeting this month to their contribution and dedication to our support of our group. Unfortunately, we only had two people to attend our meeting. I was very disappointment in this. We still had a great meeting and ideas that were brought forth.

New business:

YMCA Food Pantry Donation Drive: We will be providing flyers to our streets and so far? I have Garden Acres Way, Ryan's Way, Tammy Circle and Roberts Way participating in our food drive. The goal is to collect donations at end of December for YMCA to distribute the food to those who are in need. The ministration supporting this is Loaves & Fishes www.poolerloavesandfishes.org/fishes/in-the-beginning.

Crime Information:

Break?  in and stolen property? October 19, 2012 Garden Acres Way 400 block around 6-7 oclock.

Thursday October 18, 2012 firearm discharged within our community. Police arrived on scene and I do know that they spoke with the owner of the house down the road on the 400 block Garden Acres. No report yet to if anyone was arrested.

I hope that this brings light to everyones eyes that we still have intruders coming in our homes and stealing our possessions. I also discussed that we need more particpants in our community to acheive our goals to bring up our children in safe environments, a place where people can retire, and to take away fear. We need to ask ourselves where do we want our community to be in the future. Do we want to have a place to live where drug dealers are on our street with our children? Do we want our homes to be invaded by these thugs? or Do we want our children to be safe from kidnappers, drug dealers, and not being forced to follow in the evil ways of these criminals that is taking over our community. Please ask yourself am I taking charge of my home and lifestyle or am I letting these criminals take control of my life? Please patrol your streets and call the police of any suspicious activity.
