School Dedication Ceremony

Nov 2, 2009 Major Cheney Elementary School dedication ceremony was held with attendees from Birdville Independent School District, City of Fort Woth Mayor ProTem, Danny Scarth and Community Relations Department Manager-Angela Rush.  Bob Ray Sanders delivered a moving message as he represented the Cheney-Sanders family.  Local dignataries from the cities of Haltom City, Richland Hills, North Richland Hills, Hurst, Euless, and Bedford were also present.  Sen. Jane Nelson sent a US flag and it was presented to the school's principal.  Over 150 people were in attendance with a special performance by the 5th grade honor students.  Refreshments - cakes, cookies, punch - were enjoyed by all.
