Beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday is the Gateway Community Fair, free to the public, located at 111th Square at NE 111 Avenue and Halsey. Music, food, entertainment, business displays, neighborhood/community tables, and the Keystone Kops will provide a mix of fun goings-on. The Fair ends at 4:00 pm.

A Community Fair highlight is the annual Bike helmet program, sponsored by the Portland Police East Precinct and Emmanuel Hospital. A donation of $5 per helmet is requested and includes personal fitting by the Portland Police and Cadets.

An extensive list of raffle prizes will add excitement to the three hour fair as prizes are set to be announced every half hour. Raffle tickets will be available in advance and at the fair. Cost is 3 for $10 and $5 for single tickets.

Attractions: The Portland Police are anticipating bringing their Command (SWAT) vehicle, DARE Corvette and a Police Car for folks to look at. Smilin' Eli the Happy Clown, who appeared at Gateway Fun-O-Rama events years ago. Over 30 information tables with reps from local businesses, community and non-profit groups. Professional performers and talent from Parkrose High School.

Location note: The Community Fair will extend to both sides of NE 111 Avenue south of Halsey. On the east side of NE 111 in the 111th Square parking lot will be organizations' tables, GABA merchants booths, entertainment stage, and food. On the west side of NE 111 will be police and fire equipment displays and other interesting attractions.
