At our October neighborhood potluck, we said farewell to Jeff & Lisa Baker, a.k.a. the Augusta Bulldogs Blockwatch.
Although Jeff and Lisa were renters, they spearheaded the efforts 4 1/2 years ago and held the very first Neighborhood Meeting in their front yard.
Fed up with the area crime, the Bakers started the Bulldogs Blockwatch to help improve the neighborhood.
Lisa would often tell stories of chasing hookers off the street with her cane in hand, doing everything she could to reclaim the neighborhood.
Lisa also spent countless hours creating and maintaining our neighborhood database and doing research on various neighborhood issues.
Jeff and Lisa finally purchased their very own brand new home, way out somewhere. I believe they have one registered sex offender in their zip code. What will they do with all their spare time?
We wish them all the best and send with them a sincere thank you for all the work they have done over the years.
You will be missed !
