The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners recently entertained a motion to deny a proposal allowing those operating child day care centers and kindergartens in single-family residential districts to obtain a special land use permit. Currently, operators of childcare facilities in residential districts can have up to six children attending the facility. A special land use permit would have removed that restriction.
