Interested in getting your ham callsign on your license plate? Well, here is how to do it. You will note that this is not the rather expensive "vanity" license but a plain license plate at a reasonable one time fee. Thanks to Ray Hertzberg, KE6DOJ for the following instructions:

Get on to the INTERNET.
Go To: http. //www.DMV.org
Click on (co): Where do you want to go?
Select: FORMS
Select: A State ?–(California)
Press: GO
co: California DMV Forms
co: Forms Master List
Select: REG 17A
co: Special License Plate Application (REG 17A)
Adobe will come on:
Fill out your name, address, vehicle information and your Ham Radio Call Sign. (This will require a copy of your Ham Radio License). I also included a copy of the vehicle registration.
Check all the boxes and make sure they are correct.
Print the filled-out form.
Sign section 5 at the bottom and date it.
Make a check for $21.00 payable to DMV.
Put the signed form, the check, the Ham Radio License copy, (and the Registration copy) in an envelope and mail it to the DMV in Sacramento. (The address is at the bottom of the Form REG 17A).
In the appropriate amount of time, the license plates will come to you in the mail.
