Golden Triangle Neighborhood Assoc.

NEW BOARD MEMBER

Nov 29, 2000

An executive director's dream is to have an association member call with no apparent provocation to say, "I'd like to get involved, give me a project." And that is just how new board member Katherine Berke introduced herself to the Golden Triangle Neighborhood Association. The dream continued when she assumed her assigned task of chairing a project to utilize city funds for neighborhood reforestation. She said, "Don't worry about a thing, I will take over and make sure it gets done." And she did.

Katherine is a vice president in American Management Systems' New Media and Communications Group. AMS is a consulting firm that develops and implements information systems. She is currently working on the group's strategy for building solutions that leverage wireless data technology. In between her extensive business travel, Katherine practices yoga, plays golf, and reads. A current favorite book is West With The Night.

Ms. Berke is a resident in the Trieste and loves many aspects of the neighborhood such as the diversity and the familiarly of knowing her mailman's name. She hopes that the community will become a special place, but different from Cherry Creek or Lower Downtown. Katherine feels that a strong neighborhood organization is vital to this end and urges all neighbors to get involved in GTNA. She took to heart Dana Crawford's talk/tour last August when Dana advised Golden Triangle residents to form a consensus and let their preferences be known about architectural types to avoid a mish mash of urban forms.

Katherine Berke is a good neighbor who works to make a difference and a valuable board member.
