COLORADO INSTITUTE OF FINE ART MOVES TO THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE

The Corner of 12th and Lincoln will soon be bustling with career-oriented students carrying large portfolios and art supplies. The Colorado Institute of Art (CIA), a provider of art, design, and culinary education programs is currently finalizing renovation of the building they purchased at 12oo Lincoln. From its former location at 9th and Grant, CIA will move classes and administrative offices into the building on February 22.

The ten-story building, which had been empty for several years, contains 100,000 square feet, plus an attached three-level parking structure for 280 cars. The total renovation will accommodate CIA's diverse courses of study with highly technical computer-oriented needs and allow for expansion. Features of the renovation, which will enhance the school's effectiveness, are more faculty workspaces, increased library space, a larger student lounge with a delicatessen, and more student/teacher conference rooms.

The Colorado Institute of Art is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Art Institutes International (All), and in turn Education Management Corporation, one of the nation's leaders in post-secondary, career-oriented education for the creative arts. All also includes Art Institutes in Atlanta, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Francisco, Schaumburg, Chicago, Seattle, and the New York Restaurant School in Manhattan.

CIA was founded in 1952. Associate of Applied Science degrees are offered in culinary arts, fashion, design, graphic design, multi-media, photography, video production, and web site administration. Bachelor of Arts degrees are also offered in graphic design, industrial design, interior design, computer animation,, interactive multi-media programming, and culinary management.

CIA joined the Golden Triangle Neighborhood Association several months ago. This is just one of many indications that the Colorado Institute of Art will be a good neighbor and valuable enhancement to the Golden Triangle.
