On January 18, 200l, GOLES assisted the residents of Bracetti Houses with our ongoing problem of lack of heat and hot water.
For a period of nearly six weeks, the residents were subjected to inhumane conditions while Bracetti was undergoing heating service plant replacement.
We knocked on doors and collected many signatures to support our claim for better services. It is wintertime, with families that include seniors as well as children all living in this complex while NYCHA shows indifference to our plight which is appalling.
We filed a HP action in Housing Court and the hearing judge ordered the heating contractor of record to restore heat and hot water IMMEDIATELY. The case is pending and remains open.

The lesson learned is ?“If we work together, We Can Win!!?”
