Dr. Swan has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare,  Social and Rehabilation Services,  Region lll  in Philadelphia, PA,   December 24, 1972.   Swan will serve under Gorham Black, Regional Director of Region 111

(From 1971 to 1977, Gorham Black  served as the Director of  Region III of the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. He  supervised more than 8,000 employees and had responsibility for administering  the broad range of departmental programs and services annually costing over $10  billion in the Region's five states, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia)

Additionally, Swan  was the former Executive Director of United Neighborhood Services in Scranton, Pa.   1970-72

Dr. Swan ultimately became a Presidential  Policy Advisor to two Presidents.

My father Alexander Swan first came to Baltimore when he was 21 years old, in 1925,  He started work at Bethlehem Steel Corp. His nick name was tomatos. He work for 38 years and never missed a sick day. Mother  Anna Swan was a house wife.

 

Charles W. Swan is home grown.. 829 HarlemAve

 

William Boddie, MD,  George Rusell, General Timothy Boddie, Ronal Swan, deceased....Bronz and Silver Stars, Special Forces Geen Beret all came from these ranks.
