Tornado Warning Siren and Shelter

Warning Siren

GLTPOA purchased and installed a tornado siren located on a pole in front of the shop building at the corner of Temple Road and Gary Drive. Although GLT resident Robert Long is the primary person who activates the siren in times of bad weather, the siren may be operated by anyone in case of an emergency. A switch located on the pole activates the siren. The siren is tested monthly [when?]

Shelter

You may have noticed a green building on your right as you start down the hill to the boat docks. This building formerly housed the water supply equipment for GLT. Although the building is owned by the Roberts/Brawley families, GLT residents may use the building as a tornado shelter. There are no lights or electrical outlets in the building so you will need to bring a flashlight. The security light near the shelter is provided by Grand Lake Towne.
