Mayor John Vaughan and City Council Members have received information about the Campaign Against Hunger in Kentucky.
We join with Kentucky Harvest and the Kentucky League of Cities in urging you to support this initiative to help those who are less fortunate among us.
Did you know that nearly 20,000 people are homeless in Kentucky? And, that one in five children in Kentucky is living in poverty? Hunger is a huge problem for these and many others in all our communities.
The Millions in a Month campaign will be held during the month of March 2006 to raise awareness and meet the goal of collecting 11 million pounds of food in Kentucky in one month to benefit food banks in local communities.
Whenever and wherever you see an opportunity to contribute food to this important cause, please be generous. People who are just like us as human beings are poor, hungry, sick, and already anticipating your kindness.
To learn how you can help with this effort, contact Kentucky Harvest at 502/894-9999.
