Please help enforce the Noise Ordinance that was put into effect in Metro Louisville.
Those of us who live on or in close proximity to busy streets are bombarded by car Boom boxes at all hours of the day and night. It is worse when Ballard High School is in session. The vibrations rattle our windows and foundations and make sleep difficult and disturbs our peace in the daytime. T
hose of you who had the traffic re-routed during the recent storm may have some idea of what we put up with daily.
The Louisville Metro law states that in order to give a citation the noise has only to be heard from 50 feet, and no special device is need to detect the sound. There is a fine for the first offense of from $l00 to $250.
Even tho you may not be directly affected would you please take the time to call 3ll and issue a complaint on behalf of those of us who are?
You also can e mail Ken Fleming, our 7th District Councilman as well.
His e mail address is: kenfleming@loumetro.org. He has been very helpful to us in making suggestions as to how to bring this to the attention of the Police and has stated that the more complaints they receive the more likely it will be that the Police will enforce the Law. He will forward complaints to the Louisville Metro Police.
Thank you.
