There's an ordinance in Jefferson County -- yes, in the new Metro -- that says you have to have a leash on your animal (dog, cat, chicken, aardvaark, whatever) when that animal is not in your yard.
But that's not how it is. You know that.
Any ideas on what can be done about it?
You can't call the police about every small incident -- so, what to do?

Control pet poop
What I don't like is when dog walkers let their dogs poop all over people's lawns ... and they don't pick up after their animals.
It even happens when the residents are standing right there! The nerve of some of these people who think they are entitled to mess up someone else's yard.
Get it under control!

It's Easy To Scoop Poop!
Our friends who walk their dogs take some little zip-lock baggies with a piece of paper toweling in each. When the dog does his/her thing in someone else's yard (they never seem to do it in their own), they just turn the bag inside out ... pick up the poop with the paper towel which is inside the bag ... turn the bag right-side out ... and zip it all up. No mess. No smell. Easy. So Just Do It!!!

dogs without leashes
I live on Clearview Drive and we have a beautiful courtyard where our kids can play. Unfortunately we also have neighbors that let their dogs run wild and make deposits. These same people think that by doing this early in the morning or under the cover of darkness they don't have to pick up these deposits. PLEASE PICK UP YOUR DOGS DEPOSITS !!!!!!!
