I want to call people's attention to a problem that's getting worse. Careless people are throwing bottles, cans, fast food containers out the car windows.

In the past day, I've counted 14 pieces of trash in a 20 foot stretch of road at the stop sign at Bedford and Greenlawn Road. I had just cleaned it up recently.

This disgrace is severely harming our neighborhood and something must be done about it. The police cannot do everything here. We must teach our children not to pitch stuff out the car window. We must learn to pick up the trash when it is on the street. We must band together to make our neighborhood attractive again.

We need some fresh ideas on how to address this trash problem.
