Recently, unjustifiable complaints about the police department have been posted on this website.
An anonymous author or authors charge that the police department doesn't do a proper job. There are even more snide remarks made about the mayor and other city officials.
Frankly, if there are justifiable complaints, we want to know about them so we can correct any problems. When an author chooses to make a complaint anonymously, he or she creates a stumbling block in actually solving a problem.
If you don't want to call the city offices (429-0834)or call the various city council members with your problems, you can certainly put your comments on this website. However, an anonymous note deprives us of the ability to try to satisfy an individual. I'm not saying that we can always satisfy everyone, but we can listen and try to do our best.
I try to monitor this website every other day, except when I am out of town or have no access to a computer. I'm disappointed that this is not enough for some people.
Regarding the car that is parked on the driveway on Carlimar ... as long as the car is parked on the driveway, it is legal. Horizontal or not. The police do check on these situations on their daily patrols.
Regarding the physical condition of houses along Carlimar. The city's ordinances protect public health and safety. Occasionally they deal with public nuisances or gross neglect. But generally, the city is limited and cannot force property owners to maintain their property to satisfy other residents.
