Greater Palm River Point CDC

Note to the Board members

Posted in: Pat Acres Estates
In the latest newsletter on page 9 we are asked to contact members of the Board to make the listed projects happen. I am writing this to ask the members of the Board NOT to make the following suggestions happen:
4 - way stops
Pat Blvd. and Crenshaw St. - NO
Terracewood Circle and Westridge - NO
Flowerfield and Terracewood Circle - NO
Why do we need more stop signs? and why are 2 of the streets suggested Terracewood Circle?

I also vote NO to provide an irrigation source for the Pat Blvd. Entrance Island. We don't need to waste any more of our money on monthly water bills for a few plants. Anyone on the Board ever hear of Xeroscape. Let's conserve our precious water resource and just yank the plants and put in some bolders and then we won't need to pay for installing a source of water and paying a monthly water bill. Why is the look of the that Entrance Island such a big concern?
Answers to your questions

I personally (non-board member) thank you for replying to the various requests.

I do have specific answers to your statements.

The term is Xeriscape not Xeroscape...the concept does not mean that you rip out all plants and put in boulders. The terms definition is ''planting the right plant in the right place''. The plants that are up there are almost all native Florida plants, and as such do not need water (other than rain). The water would be for adding more color (annuals/perenials) to the front entrance. As to why is anyone concerned about the entrance island, it has to do with pride in the neighborhood as well as property values. I for one am proud of this community and the things that are done here.

Thanks for allowing a differing opinion.
