Radon In Gwinnett County

Aug 12, 2007

You may not hear a lot about it, but if you live in Gwinnett, Fulton, DeKalb, or Cobb Counties in Georgia, you have a good chance of having unacceptable levels of radon gas in your home.

Radon poisoning has been linked to lung cancer, even in non-smokers. Smokers who live in higher levels of radon gas are even more at risk.

Radon is a silent threat, not detectable through sight or smell, and usually causes no symptoms.

Visit the Gwinnett County Extension office at 750 S. Perry Street, Suite 400, in Lawrenceville to pick up a free kit to test your home.

For more information, call 678.377.4010 or e-mail Ines Beltran, Extension Radon Educator, at inesb@uga.edu.
