Neighborhood Association Status
I have been happy to serve as the neighborhood association?’s interim leader for the last few years but circumstances have arisen in my life that prevent me from continuing. Please call me at 691-1464 if you are interested in volunteering some of your time for the neighborhood association. This would be a great opportunity for someone to volunteer to be president of the association and organize a group to make some much-needed improvements to our frontage and entryway.
If nobody volunteers I will continue paying the bills until our funds run out at which time I will cancel the water, electricity, mowing, and weed control contracts. I would hate for this to happen so please consider serving on the neighborhood association. I would be glad to answer any questions that you have.

Neighborhood Ideas

Mandatory Dues
Some have suggested that we make our dues mandatory. If they were mandatory then we would have a budget of almost $5,000 per year which would allow us to make improvements and plan for the future. I believe this could only be done by a vote of the neighbors.

Temporarily Suspend Mowing
We could cancel our mowing contract for a couple of years and use the money to fix the sprinkler system and make other improvements. We would have to mow the frontage and pick up trash ourselves during this time.

Get More Persons to Pay Their Dues
Our dues are only $5 per month which is very low compared to the other neighborhoods in the area. If everyone paid then we would have plenty of money to operate.

Cover the Tree Roots on the Island
We need someone to figure out how to fix the problem of the exposed roots on our island. Can they be covered with dirt and then planted with rye grass?

Our Dues
So far 49 out of 83 residents have paid their neighborhood association dues this year. This is a decrease of 4 residents from last year. I know we can do better!

Sprinkler System
For the last few years we have been forced to limit the use of the entryway sprinkler system due to a leak. This caused our water bills to be very high. Limiting it?’s use saves money on our water bill but doesn?’t allow us to keep the entryway looking as good as it should. We either need to spend some money to fix the leak or find someone who will volunteer to fix it. If you know someone who can at least diagnose the problem please give me a call.
