Beach Park Upgrades
The new locking gate was installed May 31st. The board is hoping to discourage vandalism, late night partying and non-Greenwood Point Homeowners
usage that has been on the upswing. Keys can be obtained by calling Candy.

A $5.00 refundable deposit is required for each key requested. The lock installed is a heavy duty lock with non-duplicable keys. If a key is lost and the association must purchase another, the cost to replace is $6.81 per key at the present time. The board reviewed the policy of other homeowners associations and found the normal key fee to be $20.00 per key.

In addition to gate replacement, we also mended the fence where dogs were able to get though and the small gate on the beach was repaired. New playground chips were added, bark spread and poppies planted. Please take the opportunity to see the beach area and meet neighbors at the July 20th neighborhood potluck.

We are always looking for board volunteers. Call me if you have an interest.

GPHA President

What to Do in Your Garden in June

Plant annuals: Sow seeds of cosmos, marigold, sunflower, sweet alyssum and zinnia right away for bloom in late summer and fall.

Plant Perennials: Plant aster, basket-of-gold, blanket flower, columbine, coreopsis, Shasta daisy and feverfew. For filler, use Artemisia,
dusty miller, and golden or purple sage.

Control aphids: Blast them off of new growth with a hose and follow up with a spray of insecticidal soap.

Control slugs: Bait around susceptible plants, or hunt down snails and slugs on rainy days or at night.

Thin fruit: Apples produce bigger fruit if you thin them after June drop, when trees spontaneously shed unpollinated fruit. Thin triple clusters to doubles, and double clusters to singles. Don?’t thin at all if you have an
alternate-bearing tree and this is the light year.
