Friends and Neighbors,
I want to thank all of you that attended the first meeting last night. I know how difficult it is to make
the time from your busy schedules, especially around the holidays. Maryanne, our police liaison, was
very complimentary about the turn out. We should all be encouraged by this. Also, when we meet
again, we'll plan to meet prior to the program for anyone who would like to socialize and meet some of
the neighbors.
We are required to have two meetings a year.
Remember that this is a TEAM effort, so please share any ideas you may have for anything related to
the neighborhood.
I will be contacting those of you that have kindly volunteered to be Block Leaders, but in the
meantime, try to obtain as many names, addresses and e-mails from your neighbors as possible. We
can add them to the list. Hopefully our list will continue to grow. Feel free to add anyone that may not
have been able to make the meeting. They do not necessarily have to be from your block.
For those that do not have e-mails, we will put a phone committee together to contact them by
phone.
Barbara, one of our neighbors will be working on our Armory website. As soon as it is up and running
we will send you the link.
Next time we meet we will meet under the tent at Alessi's. I spoke to them this morning and they are
going to come up with a way to give us some light. I apologize for the tight quarters last night.
I was thinking about setting up the next meeting for Monday evening, Feb 4. My suggestion is to have
someone from City of Tampa Code Enforcement or Clean City division. They also have a program that
we can meet the police officers in our area. This is basically a roll call for the officers, they are only
there for a few minutes and then they return to their duties. Please let me know if there are other
suggestions. Remember this is a group effort.
This would also count for one of our two required meetings.
I have called our Liaison to see how soon we can have the Crime watch area signs. She will check and
get back to me.
Thank you again.
