Darnell to Host Community Meeting on Sandy Springs Sunday, May 1



Fulton County Vice Chair and District 5 Commissioner Emma I. Darnell
will host a Town Hall Meeting on Sunday, May 1, 2005 from 5 p.m. to 7
p.m. to discuss the Sandy Springs Referendum and the County's Courts and
Corrections System.

The focus of the meeting will be "Who Pays? Who Benefits?" and community
members will have an opportunity to voice their concerns.

Attendees will hear from Commissioner Darnell, who will discuss how
residents outside of Sandy Springs would finance the delivery of the new
city's services if the referendum passes.

In addition, information will be presented by County officials regarding
how incorporation of Sandy Springs may affect County-wide services, such
as libraries, arts programs, health centers, senior centers, courts and
corrections.

"Fulton County taxpayers have a right to know all of the facts and
circumstances regarding any significant reduction in County services. We
will make every effort during this meeting to meet their expectations,"
said Commissioner Darnell.

The meeting will take place at the Harriett G. Darnell Senior
Multipurpose Facility, 677 Fairburn Road, NW, Atlanta.
