Billie Richey, born in Houston, TX January 17, 1932, passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Ellis Richey, and parents Fredonia Elizabeth Mae and William Wesley Hudson.
She is survived by her children: Jeane Blackmon and husband David, Debra Winkelmann and husband Kirby, Dan Richey and wife Linda, grandchildren: Amy Haines and husband Wade, Sara Simmons and husband Derek, Aaron Blackmon and wife Mandy, Eric Winkelmann and wife Michele, Chris Winkelmann, Shawn Jackson and wife Amanda, great grandchildren: Kinleigh, Tyler, Lucas, Shelbey, Ashley, Emaley, Makenna and Cayden. Along with many numerous nieces and nephews.
She married the love of her life, Ellis Richey, on November 3, 1949. Together they started Richey Pest Control in 1963 and she retired in 1992. While in business she volunteered her time with the Greater Houston, TX and National Pest Control associations. She also volunteered her time with the Gulf Meadows Civic Club as resident and holding many other positions through the years. She also gave her time to the Houston Police Department, Houston Citizens Academy, Houston Gunners Football, Harris County Republican Party and several other community organizations.
