The plea for volunteers that was taped into our Oct/Nov newsletter helped recruit 42 unpaid school aides. An unpaid staff of 19 tutors and 22 volunteers in supervision management signed up to lend a hand. Principal Mary Davis is pleased. We were not her only advocates. A story in the Greater Park Hill Community newsletter about the need for volunteers at Montclair also helped, as did some schools contacted by Mrs. Davis. Councilwoman Marcia Johnson also actively recruited, in keeping with a campaign promise.
