Hamilton Highlands Subdivision

Yards

Posted in: Hamilton Highlands
I have lived in this subdivision for a little over a year and I have to say that the yards are horrible!!!! I have worked my butt off on trying to make my yard look presentable but then when you look at yards beside me and across the street you think why did I even bother. Is there something that can be done about this? Also there are insanley too many cars parked on the streets in our neighbor hood. I don't know how many times I've been coming around the corner and there are little boys on bikes coming around the corner. I don't know where there parents are but I think they should be watched a lot more carefully. I think it also might help if people were not aloud to park around the bends at ALL!

My thoughts and thanks to the members and trustees that put their time and effort in making this community a nice place to live in.

RE: Yards

Yes, I hear you! I wish that everyone was on board with maintaining their yards equally well! I believe we have a number of homeowners that do an excellent job and a few that do a very poor job. My hope is that by you doing your best that it will encourage others to do so as well. My feeling is that if we get to know one another better that we can say to our neighbor ''can I help you'' or ''did you notice how much work I've put into my yard'' or something constructive like that.

Clean, well-groomed yards attract good people to our subdivision while poorly maintained yards, houses, and cars attract the opposite! A strong home-owners association is one good step towards this. If you can, please attend the meeting on June 3 and encourage your neighbors to come as well. We can then have a discussion about the solutions.

We have had a few discussions about parking on the bends. Additionally, I have a problem with the cars that absolutely FLY through out streets. We have talked to the city about these problems, and the solution presented is to have a traffic study done. This was brought up at the last homeowner's meeting, but no one was really on board with having this done. The city is likely to post no parking on these bends and not everyone wants that. Is that the right choice? I don't know, but I would welcome hearing everyone's comments on this. And as much as I HATE speedbumps, they may be necessary as well.

I hope this is constructive.
Thanks,
Homeowner Association

What time is the meeting on June 3rd?

My husband and I have lived in this neighborhood since the beginning, 11 years. We have always taken great pride in our yard. Just finished a front yard makeover!! (glad that's done!) I think many folks in the neighborhood do have great yards, but it seems that the few that don't, seem to really stand out. I think a simple mowing would do wonders for most.
We've lived through some pretty frustrating neighbors, but really there's nothing you can do. We sat them out and they eventually moved. People have their own ideas of ''Homeownership'', just wish their ideas were more like ours!
Hope to see you at the 6/3 get together, but not sure who you are......
