This discussion makes me so sad. I am not living in the actual neighborhood but very near by. I found this discussion board while searching for my neighborhood. This summer while visiting your neighborhood; I saw the very people I believe you are speaking of. The entire neighborhood was out and about. Playing with their kids and enjoying Cornhole. It reminded me of the 1950's when neighbors were close to each other and enjoyed each others company. I made a remark to the person who was with me how amazing it was to see this taking place. Children not on their computers or watching TV? Who would have dreamed that children playing outside would become the exception. So many children become couch potatoes just like their parents. I wish all parents would come home from work and play with their kids and even have a beer. I saw no drunks or druggies...just kids being kids...parents being ideal parents...I feel so sorry for the individual who is upset by this type of community and their closeness. I can only hope that you realize just how special this is in this day and age. If your not taking part in the closeness I witnessed, I hope you reevaluate your day to day actions and your convictions. You do not have to drink a beer, many I saw were not. If you absolutely do not want to join in, Please do not take others to task for it. I only wish we had bought our home in that area. I am not a drinker, but I would gladly come out to play with the others and make nice...God you gotta love the 1950's and this neighborhood.
