Looked on the site and couldn't find any minutes to this meeting. Our family is waiting on the contact information regarding the Ash Tree Treatment. Did I miss the minutes on the site?

No, you didn't miss the minutes. I'll get them on there this week. Sorry !!
About the ash tree problem: I talked with the man from Tru-Green and he said that the price of $40 per tree was if all trees were done in the community. To do it individually, it would probably be $100-$140 for the first treatment (trunk injection). But if there were enough of us to do it, possibly a cost reduction. He said that a study had been done regarding the trunk injection. They put 3 trees together to see what happened. The tree that had the trunk injection, even though it was by the tree with borers, protected very well. Even if the larva got on the tree, as soon as they feed and got the pesticide in them, they died.
Ed got in touch with the city today and he was told that if you fill-out a form and submit proof that your tree had been treated for the ash borer, they would not cut it down. To obtain the form, please call 645-6640 and they will send the form to you. |
