Donating to Palmetto Goodwill

Posted in: Blue Horizons

Hello

I am the Donation Coordinator with Goodwill and wanted to take a moment to let you know of our FREE service for any upcoming Community Yard Sales you may have.

This is really a win-win for all. After a yard sale many people do not want to bring back the very item, they were trying to sell just to store it in their garage. We try to make it easy on them by providing a truck onsite that they can come and bring unsold & unwanted items, we will also provide a receipt to all that come up and drop their items off at the truck.

What we usually do is….

  • The community will provide a parking spot: it can be by the pool, activity center, or a parking space to accommodate a box truck and several large plastic bins.
  • Myself and my team will be there approximately 1 hour prior to end time & approximately 1 hour after the sale ends (longer if needed – we usually judge that off the flow of the residents coming to drop off.
  • We ask that all residents are issued an email by you OR informed that the Goodwill truck will be onsite and let them know we will provide a donation receipt to anyone that would like one!

That is pretty much it. It is very easy and as I mentioned it is a win-win for all. We try to make it easier for folks to donate & unclutter. Every time we do this for communities the residents thank us and are ecstatic to have us there.

Let me know if I can help with anything else and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Have a great day!

Crystal
