Dear Hayhurst Community,
Today prior to the start of students at school, and individual walked into the building and took a lap top off of a teacher desk. The individual was wearing tan pants, had a yellow backpack, about 30's, short hair, and might have been Hispanic. This description matches with an individual who has burglarized many school buildings across the district this year. While the staff was all at school, everyone was in a meeting so the building was very quiet. A police report was filed.
This is a reminder to all of us, to lock classroom doors when out of the room, and if we see some one in the building without a visitor pass to not hesitate to stop them, ask how you can help them, and direct them to the office to sign in.
Just wanted everyone to be aware of the situation.
