It happened a couple of weeks ago.  UPS delivered a package and placed it in my watering hose storage bench on my front porch and rang the bell.  I opened the door as he scurried back to his truck.  He pointed at the storage box.  I retrieved the package and took it in.  I was expecting a package but not of this sort.  I opened it anyway.  It held 4 nice Sprint cell phones. I took the package over to the UPS store by Target and explained it was not mine.  The UPS man said each phone was worth about $300. Gee, that's $1200 worth of merchandise there!  It was addressed to an Opulence Studios but had my address.  The man at the UPS store wrote a 1-800 number on the bottom and told me the truck would be by my home to pick it up.  He came and I gave him the box.

The next day about 10 AM the doorbell rang and a black man in a blue Murcery with two other men asked, "you have my box?" I asked, "What box?"  "A box from UPS," he told me.  I replied that I had sent it back.  Later that day it was "day-ja-vue."  The UPS truck delivered another box just like the other one EXCEPT it had no 1-800 number on the bottom.  I knew it was not the same box.  But again it was addressed to Opulence Studios.  By the way, there is NO Opulence Studios in Memphis or the surrounding area.  They are in Las Vegas.  At this point I decided to call the police.  They came but before they arrived, oh let's say 10 or 15 minutes after the delivery, up popped the blacks in the blue car again.  I was on the phone with the police and she kept telling me, "Don't open the door,  the police are on the way."  The men left before the police came. They took down serial numbers of the phones, retaped the box and we sent it back again.  But I called Sprint and told them about it.  They closed the account.  One Fraud plan foiled!

Keep an eye on you surroundings.  I never thought someone else would think they could use my storage box or front porch to collect their ill gotten gains. They probably thought I'd never notice.

Good job...you probably saved someone a lot of headaches clearing charges on their credit card for the shipment.  Seems that would be a "high value shipment" requiring signature.  Boy, wish you could have gotten their tag number.
