You all have heard of the recent Police Activity in our Parking Lot.
First of all, a big thanks to the individual who reported this for their attentiveness, diligence, and willingness to contact the Police.
Also, we should all thank the Police for their quick response and continued and increased patrols in this area.
We have been in contact with the Frederick Police Chief and would like to pass on the following information: The individual apprehended that night had been reported by other citizens in the area; that is why the Police were able to respond so quickly, they were already looking for this guy. The next day another citizen reported their car broken into and some items stolen. The items were traced to why the prowler had thrown while being pursued by the Police in our Parking Lot.
As far as Neighborhood Watch is concerned: at the January 2007 HOA Meeting the Frederick Police Chief, Gary Barbour, made a presentation and passed out materials concerning the Town?’s efforts in forming Neighborhood Watch Groups. This information and these materials were included in the Meeting Minutes and sent to all Association Members. The Association has received no input to date from any Members; as to wanting to participate in this Program.
From discussions with the Police Chief we know that the Town is moving forward with their Neighborhood Watch Program. Several neighborhoods and subdivisions, as well as some HOAs, have formed Neighborhood Watch Groups. There is information about the Town?’s effort on the Town of Frederick WEB Site: http://www.frederickco.gov/
If you have interest in trying to get a Neighborhood Watch Group from our Association, and / or the surrounding area, integrated with the Town?’s efforts please respond to the Association?’s e-mail address with your comments and availability. We would most likely need one individual to act as a ?“Block Captain?”. If there is sufficient interest, and if someone is willing to lead the way, we will work to schedule a meeting with the Town?’s Neighborhood Watch Coordinator and any interested Association Members. If we move forward with this, it might be best to include not only all Owners but also any Tenants that might be interested in participating in the Program.
