The two back tennis courts at the lower pool have been resurfaced. Next time you are in the vicinity of the lower courts please take a look for they look very nice. We also have new windscreens. The other two courts at the lower pool were resurfaced in 1997 and remain in very good condition. Due to a constant water problem under the two courts at the upper pool we have not invested in a complete resurfacing job for these two courts. It is our current policy to limit our maintenance on these courts to crack repair.

We had a great time at the summer sunset party at the upper pool. I was very pleased to see that our attendance was considerably higher this year. The band, "The Windjammers", a 40's swing band was just great. Bill Blatnik and Dave Smart as usual organized a wonderful evening for everyone. Our next social event will be the annual Holiday " Cup of Cheer" in December.

We had a very nice summer with very little operating problems with our two pools and importantly our summer was free of any serious accidents. Both pools and tennis courts were very busy and we had a number of swimming pool parties.

The board has decided to once again tackle the problem of landscaping our Orchard Road border. Steve Carmine, our Local Government representative, will direct these efforts. We will be meeting with Greenwood Village officials to see what is required to get this project back on Greenwood's capital
improvement agenda. We would like the telephone lines to be placed underground and the border graded and landscaped with grass, bushes and tree plantings. Please compare our Orchard border with the Pines to the west and to Koelbel library to the east and of course to the Preserve across the street. The above, in addition to a sprinkler system, represents a considerable investment. It is our hope that Greenwood Village will assist in the initial capital improvement investment with HV committing to maintenance and long term improvement.

Please mark on your calendar November 11th as the date for our annual HOA meeting. We will meet as usual in the Lenski cafeteria at 6:30. You will receive your meeting notice and ballots in the mail.
Please double check the meeting times and dates for it could change from the time and date mentioned above.

Again, any one interested in running for a position on the board please give me a call.
