I am a resident and homeowner in Hickory Hills subdivision. I purchased my home nearly four years ago at 1504 Sudbury Ct. I have worked in the home building industry and real estate for most of my adult life. I have formed HOA boards and chaired those boards as part of my professional duties, most recently as part of my responsibilities with Centex Homes.
I asked to be placed on the ballot for the election to our HOA board and was not placed on the ballot despite meeting all the qualifications to serve. I believe our HOA could be doing a better job keeping homeowners informed of the issues facing our community. Furthermore I believe that I would be a valuable resource to the board to ensure that our community stays competitive and attractive to future home buyers. With the growing down turn in the housing market I believe we need to be proactive in ensuring that the infrastructure and aesthetics of the community are maintained.
I also believe that the board should have members that rotate off the board for at least one full term every few terms. This will ensure new ideas and that no particular agenda becomes entrenched in the decision making process.
