HOPE Events
We have applied for another Mini Grant to help handle our social activities for this fall and into next year. While you may have seen an article in the paper that we received one, we won?’t know officially for a couple of weeks if we were successful obtaining this grant. If we are successful, we hope to plan to have a roster of possible events which will include the Progressive Dinner, the Tractor Holiday Pull and a Ladies M & M Night (martinis and movies). Send me an email at zelda216@yahoo.com if you wish to be on the planning committee for social events. We will meet later this month.
We have purchased some prizes to help handle the Halloween activities this year with leftover funds from the 2004-05 Grant, and we even purchased a few over sized ribbons/bows for our street lights at Xmas. We did not have enough to replace them all (there are about 100 and they are about 10 years old) but to at least get a good start on helping to make our holidays look cheery in the community.
If we are unsuccessful obtaining the grant this year, we will all have a decision to make regarding hosting and volunteering time and funds to keep our community vibrant and alive. One of the events we always do in the fall is our Garage Sale which usually takes place in November. This event does not require a lot of funds, but nonetheless, ads have to be placed, press releases have to be done and posters have to be made/purchased. If you would like us to work on this activity ?– can you send us a quick email? We never know if this is something that is appreciated or not. Email to zelda216@yahoo.com
