Tree Ordinance to be voted on in May
She will follw the recommendation of the Infrastructure and Growth Committee

There are School District's with Bond Concerns regarding retrofitting capital improvement budgets to account for tree mitigation.  The Bonds to be issued at present will be allowed to follow current tree ordinance policies not the proposed one.


There will be Oak Wilt mitigation money for the neighborhoods affected by Oak Wilt, and there is some effort to find resource parity for sections of the city that do not have isues with oak wilt.

A 1/8% increase in sales tax is used for aquifer and creeks

Martin Reese on Councilwoman Ramos' staff has been working on code issues

Alleys, garages and exterior storage, cars in yards ... the code compliance issues they are aware of have been addressed

Orlando is the constituent affairs staff member.

May 22, 2010 is the THIRD ANNUAL DISTRICT 3 SUMMER FAIR AND PICNIC (Southside Lions Park 3100 Hiawatha)

Flyers were distributed

a brush and bulk disposal unit will be onsite near Highland High School
Also an industrial shredder for sensitive documents will be available

CPS will have 7 -10 tables

lunch for the kids provided by SAPD

Someone complained about the hole at Kayton and Gebvers getting larger ... a promise was made to check on it

Councilwoman Ramos adresses the funding for a covered basketball court at the Bode center.  It would be nice to have an outdoor cover sindce the hours will but.
It comes down to no money in the budget.  

THere will be a 10% reduction in all city budgets

McCrelless Library to be closed for 2 days out of the week.  She needs to hear from constituents to press for the needs of the distruct.

20 habitation burgleries ... the break ins are happening from the alleyways  and they are daytime burgleries
he urges us to watch for cars in the alleys

3 garage break ins

1 aggravated assault

18 burglery of vehicles

3 deadly conducts (basically shots fired at houses or cars)

2 stolen cars (hondas and diesal f 250 trucks are popular targets)

Graffiti -- there are 6 to 7 individuals who are active taggers in the area
