The City of San Antonio Planning Department will be teaming with Highland Park Neighborhood Association during the Highland Park History Project.
In this project, City Historian Cherise Bell will be leading efforts to photograph and document the history of all remaining original structures in the area, with particular emphasis on houses built before 1927. More recent structures will also be photographed to provide support for the neighborhood's application for Conservation District status.
This product will be part of the citywide historical survey.
In addition, the historian and Planning Department will work with the neighborhood association to compile a history of Highland Park. The association Board of Directors has approved a compilation and potential printing of a document resulting from this research, in 2005.
As we launch into this project, we would like to know:
