Hello, Neighbors! Welcome to 2001 with HPHA!

Feb 25, 2001

I would like to start off by recognizing the contributions of Jim Berry, Bud Hughes, Joan Ehlert, Elizabeth Satz and Anne Binns. These individuals gave their time to make 2000 a wonderful year. HPHA greatly appreciates all of your hard work and wish you well.

I would also like to recognize our officers and committee chairs who have volunteered their efforts to make 2001 a huge success.

The Board of Directors has been struggling a bit to fill holes on various committees. Following is a list of the committees and their duties. If you are interested in any of these committees, please call me at 972-713-7305.

Crime Watch: monitor and take such action as may be necessary to enforce safety concerns affecting our community.

Social: plan and manage special social and recreational functions for members of HPHA.

Zoning: monitor and take such action as may be necessary to enforce existing zoning and zoning changes affecting our community.

The HPHA Board Members recently
Continued on back page met to schedule events for 2001 and finalize the annual budget. This year HPHA has budgeted operating funds of $6,075 and operating expenditures of $5,080. The operating funds include a budget of 80 paid memberships ($3,200) and retained income from prior years ($2,875). Additionally, HPHA has $9,011 set aside in a certificate of deposit for non-operating expense purposes.

HPHA will continue to have three block parties this year. The dates are March 17th, June 9th and September 29th. There have been a couple of changes to this year?’s parties. Everyone will sign in at the block parties. Members are admitted free. Non-members will have to pay $5.00 per adult and $2.50 per child.

We are also adding two adult parties to our activities this year. These parties will give you a chance to ?“go out?” and socialize with your neighbors. The times and locations are still pending, but they will be close to our neighborhood.

In closing, I would like to invite anyone who is not a member of HPHA to join. The fee is only $40 per household. As a member of HPHA, you will receive three newsletters throughout the year, a membership directory with your name included, admittance to all block parties, and your street number painted on the curb in front of your house.

This is going to be an exciting year. I will see you on March 17th at the block party!
