TIP: Thieves Don't Take Summer Vacations!

Don’t let your home be burglarized during your summer vacation...

Our community must work together!

Neighborhoods are like a chain. If there are obvious weak links (houses unlit, gates open, overgrown vegetation creating hiding places, door hangers not removed from door knobs, etc.), thieves will be attracted to the neighborhood

Consider doing the following:

Consider hiring a house sitter.
Don’t leave GPS in your car at the airport (It literally has a road map back to your vacant house!)
Don’t announce your vacation plans on any public social media.
Lock all of your doors and windows, including the garage.
Assure your outside lights will be on at night.
Close your drapes and blinds.—Keep prying eyes from seeing inside.
Install a random timer to vary times interior lights go on.
Stop mail and newspaper
Have a trusted neighbor remove fliers stuck on doors.
Install an alarm and cameras.
