  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor
We have lived in Baycrest for 5+ years. For several years, our neighbor behind us has built and extended a bird/squirrel/everything else feeder at the back corner of his yard. It is approximately 8'tall by 4'wide by 6'long. It has troughs for all the food. He also has added extra squirrel feeders around it.

It is an older gentleman and we know that this is his pass time. Unfortunately, we have put up with this for years and don't think it is appropriate and we would like to know what to do. We enjoy animals but we don't think that our backyard should feed countless birds, squirrels, rats, raccoons and who knows what else.

Thank you for any insight that anyone can give to us.

Kindra,

You're probably right.....those wild animals are probably a favorite past time for that older gentleman, so rather than take his enjoyment away, I would suggest laying some mothballs around the perimeter of your property. That should keep quite a bit of the wildlife out of your yard, while still enabling him to enjoy the little critters in his. Good Luck.
