Well, I was looking for the good ole Historic Kenwood page, and it seems as though I have reached Edna's gripe line....what's up?

That was uncalled for and untrue
Raymond: I feel that your post above was an uncalled for, not to mention untrue, attack on someone you don't even know, namely me. The posts I have up are not ''gripes''. One is saying how great Angie's list is (no gripe there), one is letting folks know of a good tree service (no gripe there), one is informing posts of the time of a drug march. The purpose of this board is to share information and anything to do with life in Kenwood, which is all I have done in my posts. I really feel your post was mean and uncalled for. |

And another thing, Raymond...
...ask yourself why you felt the need to post something specifically to attack someone whom you don't even know, and whose only crime was posting items of interest to the neighborhood on a board that is for posting items of interest to the neighborhood. I agree with you that it seems like no one else is posting in recent weeks, and I even commented on that same thing and asked, where is everyone? But that is no reason to attack me simply because I have posted! I really do think your post was mean-spirited, and for no reason. Raymond, we are all neighbors here. On the internet, it is easy to be meaner to folks than it is ''in real life'', but why do that? Can't we all be nicer to each other on this board? When I read some of the posts, I get embarrassed for my neighborhood, as this isn't the impression I'd want to give. I'm all for freedom of speech, and I am not saying people SHOULDN'T post what they want, or that posts should be censored. I'm just saying it is sad to me that people want to post such mean things to each other. Arguing passionately and substantively about an issue is one thing--I'm all for that! But personal attacks and meanness is another. Looking back at some of the discussions on here, as I just have since reading your post, Raymond, I'm sad to see a lot of personal attacks going on. It isn't just this message board--lots of places on the net are like that. I would just like to think that your average Kenwoodian isn't like that--that we can argue passionately about actual substantive topics, but when it comes to personal attacks, we would refrain, especially when it is just totally uncalled for and outta the blue. What do people get out of being nasty? Is there something about the net that attracts people like that? Why not be nice to each other? Raymond, as far as I know, I've never done anything to you. Perhaps I took your post wrong and you were just lamenting the lack of traffic on this site? But it sure sounded like you were personally attacking me, just for having a few posts on this otherwise quiet board. If I'm right and that's what you are doing, then, again, I think that is really a shame that you would even want to do something like that. We are all neighbors and I say let's act like it. |

ok......
Well, guess I at least got your attention...ya know, a few years ago I too took on the ''dicussion Page'' and was ''attacked'' as you claim I have done to you. In no way at all was I coming after you, as a person or a neighbor, however, after returning to my beautiful home here in Kenwood, I noticed the dicussion page was all, but that. Where is all the imput? We have a great neighborhood, but what has happened? Drive thru the alleys, it looks like a giant yard sale, and some of the homes are just unforgivable....It seems that the people who we have to thank for having the neighborhood we have, have left us sitting here.......remember the ole days of an actual newspaper.....and the great block parties, how sad we all are.....I remain hopefully that all Kenwoodies won't leave for brighter shores.....sorry Edna, I think we really have the same intentions after all..... |
