Baseball Strike

Posted in: Historic Kenwood
I beleive if MLB players strike on August 30th. basesball will be done. I was a fan until they hade the strike a few years ago. I beleive everyone should Boycot Major League Baseball if the strike again.
How much do they have to make. The lowest paid player in any franchise already makes more than a working person will ever make in a lifetime.
BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BOYCOTT BASEBALL!!!!!

Well....

as usual I tend to look at things differently. Baseball will be hurt if there is a strike this time(last time was a shut down by owners), but dead? I don't think so, people have short memories for the most part. As for the salaries, why does everybody comment on athlets, but not on movie or T.V. stars? How about musicians. What about radio personalities? Thay can make 20 or 30 million a year(Rush makes 30 million). Maybe it's the old, ''They just play a game''. I think if you'll think about the praticing, traveling, injuries, and putting up with their lives in the public eye, you'll agree it is more than just a game. How would you like your boss to trade you to a company in Detroit? Besides if it were you, you'd try to get all you could also. And why not? The owners are making even more than the players, so why shouldn't they share the wealth? I have yet to see an owner go broke. Any person is worth whatever the public will pay to see them or have them perform their skill. As an example, Paul Harvey is getting 10 million dollars a year to just read the news each morning. He dosen't make news. He dosen't even comment on it. He just reads. You or I could do that, but could we do it as well? I can't hit a 100mph fastball, can you?

P.S.

My interest in this only the baseball stadium the city built. I did not want it. I did not get to vote on it. Our petitions to recall the city council responsible for it were ignored. I still think they built it in the wrong place. All that being said(and yes, I'm over it), now that we have it, I want it to succeed. While you can do other things there, it is first and formost a baseball stadium. Nothing will pay the bills the city owes better than major league baseball. With that, why do you call for a boycott? If you don't like it, don't go. I have never bought a ticket myself. But, now that we have it, the best thing for the city is for it to succeed.

P.P.S.

I also wish they were called the St. Petersburg Devil Rays even though I know why they are not. Yes, I'm over it. Really. Boy, am I over it.
