Happy New Year!
In response to Edna's reply to ''Unsightly House Color'', I do agree that posting a specific address is probably not the smartest thing to do. Maybe the person who wrote the post just wasn't thinking. I guess my thoughts on the unsightly house color are that I'd rather have a ''bright'' house next to me as opposed to a house with rotting wood and peeling paint.
Edna brings up a question that I too have wondered about. Where are all the Kenwoodians who thought this site was filled with complaints and negativity? Where are all the Kenwoodians who thought I complained too much and asked me, ''Why did you move here?'' Seems to me that some here take offense to some of the postings on this site but then have nothing positive to contribute when all is said and done. Hmmm.....interesting.
With all of my ''complaining'' over the past year, as some saw it, I still managed to keep busy and try to work for the good of the neighborhood. I watched some really nice folks move into this neighborhood in the last few months. I saw my old neighbors do things that still amaze me....thank you Steve and Amy for REMOVING and HAULING away my old, rotten fence! I witnessed people being arrested for drugs and others moving out because it became too difficult for them to conduct illegal activities in a nice neighborhood. No thanks to meetings where people roll their eyes, no thanks to the attitudes in this neighborhood that would rather suppress the problems instead of dealing with them. And, no thanks to all that think this site should be a marketing tool instead of a forum where you can voice issues and concerns if you have issues and concerns. The thanks goes to many different people that put their money where there mouth is and took chances, the people that bought the dumps in here, even if they were overpriced just to avoid ongoing bad situations. The thanks goes to all the folks that called the police when the police should have been called. The thanks goes to all the folks that called codes and then called codes again. The thanks goes to all the folks that walked down the alleys and picked up others' trash because it didn't belong there. The thanks goes to all the folks that watched out for their neighbors in selfless ways.
Finally, the thanks goes to all in here that know what it means to be a NEIGHBOR AND A FRIEND. To all of these people (and there are many), I want to say thanks!!! You are the ones that are changing this neighborhood for the better!!!
