Hit The Ground Running Theatre, Inc. opened with a good crowd in attendance.
During the "Talk-Back" after the show comments were: "I didn't know that!" "Did they really do things like that?" "You mean there were Black Men who fought for their freedom in the Union Army?"
The play addresses the need to dispel the mistaken belief that slavery was sexy, or glamorous, or - in some twisted way - merely an apprenticeship for the climb up the ladder of successful servitude.
We are appearing nine (9) more times at the YWCA in February. Performance sites will change twice after February 18: (1) to The Ohio Historical Society 23-25 (call Thomas Nealeigh, 297-2679 for performance times and prices) and (2) The Mansfield-Richland County Public Library, 43 West Third Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902, March 3, 2001, at 2:00pm.
