We wanted to remind you that registration for the Saturday, April 18
Neighborhood Workshop & Awards is now available online.  Simply go to
www.tempe.gov/neighborhoods/workshop.htm and provide your name and click
on your two desired workshop sessions and you are all set.  Be sure to
tell a Tempe friend, family member or neighbor to join you!

The city of Tempe Transportation Program, Tempe in Motion, will hold its
18th annual Bike Month to encourage people to use bikes as an
alternative mode of transportation. Tempe Bike Month activities include
the Bike-A-Palooza and Bike to Work and School Day.

Bike-A-Palooza - Sunday, April 5
The Valley's most comprehensive free bicycle festival features a 12-mile
community ride, bicycle swap meet, safety demonstrations, bicycle
raffle, children's bike rodeo with Radio Disney, kids' activities and
entertainment, helmet give-aways and fittings and more.

This free event is from 7 a.m. to noon at Kiwanis Park located at 6111
S. All-America Way, Tempe.  Registration for the community ride beings
at 7 a.m. and the ride starts at 8 a.m.  A raffle for two bicycles
donated by Tempe Bicycle and Ehrhardt's Schwinn will also be held.
Bring a pair of old athletic shoes to donate to the Nike Reuse-a-Shoe
Program and receive two tickets for the bicycle raffle.

Bike to Work and School Day - Wednesday, April 22
Free breakfast and t-shirts will be provided for the first 400 riders.
Join Mayor Hugh Hallman along with members of the Tempe City Council on
a bike ride through Tempe.  Meet at Whole Foods Market at 7 a.m. and
bike to the Transportation Center in downtown Tempe.  Tempe Bicycle
Action Group will lead rides from all breakfast site locations to the
Transportation Center.  Breakfast site locations include:

*       Whole Foods Market, 5120 S. Rural Road, at the northwest corner
of Rural and Baseline roads
*       Wildflower Bread Company, 6428 S. McClintock Drive, at the
southwest corner of McClintock Drive and  
      Guadalupe Road
*       Berning's Fine Jewelry, 1721 E. Warner Road, at the southwest
corner of McClintock Drive and Warner Road
*       Tempe Transportation Center, 200 E. Fifth St., northwest corner
of Fifth Street and Forest Avenue 
*       IKEA Tempe, 2110 W. IKEA Way, at the northwest corner of Priest
Drive and Warner Road

Tempe Bike Month sponsors include Tempe Bicycle, Valley Metro, Coalition
of Arizona Bicyclists, Berning's Fine Jewelry, IKEA, Whole Foods Market,
Wildflower Bread Company, Clif Bar, Tempe Bicycle Action Group, Tempe
Police Department, Ehrhardt's Schwinn and Tempe in Motion.
