I just found out about the 2008 National Electric Code mandate for Tamper-Resistant outlets and wanted to make all my neighbors in Tampa aware.  I know we all worry about children sticking things in the outlets and fear what could happen.  The new outlets have an internal shutter system that prohibits foreign objects from touching hot wires within the plug.  You could retrofit your outlets yourself or call a Tampa electrician to do it for you.
